What's this war at the heart of nature?
Why does nature vie with itself—
the land contend with the sea?
Is there... not one power, but two?
—Terrence Malick (Thin Red Line)
CSFD was unofficially founded in 2008 by independent researcher Arseniy Vodopyanov. For almost a decade, the center benefited from assistance by a fellow researcher (a doctor of physics who prefers to remain anonymous). Several other members have since also contributed to the CSFD cause. The team is now headed by the founder, as well as co-directors Jeaneas Fan (UBC educated researcher) and Chapman Fan (SFU educated researcher).
OUR MISSION
The Center’s many years of full-time operation were directed by the founder toward various inquiries into philosophies of science, physics, consciousness, and biology. This expansive overall effort was undertaken as a means of scrutinizing the viability and implications of a single dualist thesis we call Two Natures Theory. Given how robust said thesis proved over nearly two decades of continuous scrutiny, the comprehensive corresponding findings will be detailed in several volumes of the forthcoming Two Natures book series. First, however, the Center aims to publish several corresponding distillations—in academic article form. Some of which are presently undergoing editorial review by science and philosophy journals with preprints archived on SSRN and indexed on PhilPapers. Explore publications.
